ROZWAŻANIE
Z jakich powodów zdarzają się złe spowiedzi?
„Spowiedź jest najcenniejszą instytucją w Kościele świętym, o czym mogliby zaświadczyć błogosławieni w niebie i na wieki potępieni w piekle. Pierwsi, zbawili się przeważnie dlatego, że godnie przystępowali do sakramentu pokuty, drudzy zginęli na zawsze, bo albo się nie spowiadali albo źle się spowiadali!
Z jakich powodów zdarzają się złe spowiedzi?
Bo czasem nie odbywamy dobrze rachunku sumienia. Głębiny swego serca trzeba badać z pochodnią i wagą w ręce i nie należy przed sobą nic ukrywać, jak nic nie ukryje się na Sądzie Ostatecznym. (…) Kto się rzadziej spowiada, niech rachunkowi sumienia poświęci dłuższy czas, niech go robi po modlitwie do Ducha Świętego i poleciwszy się Matce Najświętszej. (…)
Jest rzeczą wskazaną przejść sobie w myśli po kilka razy grzechy, by się należycie wyryły w pamięci. Jeżeli ktoś przed Komunią przypomni sobie grzech śmiertelny, niech nie idzie do Stołu Pańskiego, jeżeli zapomnienie pochodzi z jego własnej winy.
Po wtóre, z grzechów należy oskarżać się dokładnie, chociaż to pysznej naturze ludzkiej przychodzi z trudnością. Obok grzechu trzeba podać jego liczbę i okoliczności obciążające. Tu zły duch oszukuje bardzo penitenta, bo albo każe szukać łagodnego spowiednika, albo namawia do tajenia grzechów i łudzi nieszczęśliwego nadzieją, że się później lepiej wyspowiada. ( … ) wskutek świętokradzkiej spowiedzi następuje zaślepienie i zatwardziałość serca, które nieraz do śmierci nie opuszczają człowieka. (… ) a wtedy zmniejsza się łaska Boża, szatan silniej opanowuje duszę, zmniejsza się również bojaźń Boża i sprawdza się groźba Zbawiciela do świętokradców: „Będziecie mnie szukać, i w grzechach waszych pomrzecie”.”
Zatrzymaj się nad tekstem rozważań przez chwilę (ok. 10-15 min) i proś Ducha Świętego, by pomógł Ci zrozumieć te słowa. Zobacz, które słowo szczególnie Cię poruszyło, które dotyka Twojego życia. Zastanów się, co ono dla Ciebie znaczy. Im głębiej wejdziesz w te rozważania, tym więcej łask spłynie na Ciebie i innych. Pamiętaj, byś w tym rozważaniu starał się być sam z Panem Bogiem. Na koniec podziękuj Panu za to, co Ci dziś pokazał o Tobie.
Modlimy się wraz ze świętą s. Faustyną (Dz.1485):
Dusza: Panie, lękam się, czy mi przebaczysz tak wielką liczbę grzechów, trwogą mnie napełnia moja nędza.
Jezus:Większe jest miłosierdzie Moje aniżeli nędze twoje i świata całego. Kto zmierzył dobroć Moją? Dla ciebie zstąpiłem z nieba na ziemię, dla ciebie pozwoliłem przybić się do krzyża, dla ciebie pozwoliłem otworzyć włócznią najświętsze serce swoje i otworzyłem ci źródło miłosierdzia; przychodź i czerp łaski z tego źródła naczyniem ufności. Uniżonego serca nigdy nie odrzucę, Zrób Mi przyjemność, że Mi oddasz wszystkie swe biedy i całą nędzę, a Ja cię napełnię skarbami łask.
Dusza: Zwyciężyłeś, o Panie, kamienne serce moje dobrocią swoją; oto z ufnością i pokorą zbliżam się do trybunału miłosierdzia Twego, rozgrzesz mnie sam ręką zastępcy swego. O Panie, czuję, jak spłynęła łaska i pokój w moją biedną duszę. Czuję, że mnie na wskroś ogarnęło miłosierdzie Twoje, Panie. Więcej mi przebaczyłeś, aniżeli się ośmielałam spodziewać albo pomyśleć byłam zdolna. Dobroć Twoja przewyższyła wszystkie moje pragnienia. A teraz zapraszam Cię do serca swego, przejęta wdzięcznością za tyle łask. Błądziłam jak dziecię marnotrawne po manowcach, a Tyś mi nie przestawał być Ojcem. Pomnażaj we mnie miłosierdzie Twoje, bo widzisz, jak słabą jestem.
Jezus: Dziecię, nie mów już o nędzy swojej, bo Ja już o niej nie pamiętam. Posłuchaj, dziecię Moje, co ci pragnę powiedzieć: przytul się do ran Moich i czerp ze źródła żywota wszystko, czegokolwiek serce twoje zapragnąć może. Pij pełnymi ustami ze źródła żywota, a nie ustaniesz w podróży. Patrz w blaski miłosierdzia Mojego, a nie lękaj się nieprzyjaciół swego zbawienia. Wysławiaj Moje miłosierdzie.
Chwała Ojcu i Synowi, i Duchowi Świętemu, jak była na początku, teraz i zawsze, i na wieki wieków. Amen.

DAY ONE
Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You chose Your priests and religious from among us and sent them out to proclaim Your Word and to act in Your Holy Name. For this great gift to Your Church, accept our praise and thanksgiving.
We ask You to fill them with the fire of Your love, so that their ministry may reveal Your presence in the Church. Because they are vessels of clay, we pray that Your power may penetrate their weakness. Do not allow them to be crushed in their trials. Grant that in moments of doubt they may never give in to despair, that they may not yield to temptations, and that in persecution they may not feel abandoned. Inspire them in prayer, that they may live each day the mystery of Your death and resurrection. In times of weakness, send them Your Spirit. Help them to praise Your Heavenly Father and to pray for poor sinners.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, place Your word upon their lips and pour Your love into their hearts, so that they may bring the Good News to the poor, and healing to the sorrowful and despairing.
May the gift of Mary, Your Mother, to the disciple whom You loved, be a gift for everyone called to Your service. Grant that she who formed You in Your human likeness may form them in Your divine likeness, by the power of Your Spirit and for the glory of God the Father.
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Wisdom, guide priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Light, enlighten priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Purity, sanctify priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Strength, support priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, grant that especially priests, enlivened and strengthened by Your grace, may bring the word of truth and the blessing of peace to the whole world.
May the fire of holy love inflame their hearts, so that in its flames they may purify and sanctify souls.
Holy Spirit, we entrust to You the hearts of priests and religious;
Shape them in the likeness of the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

REFLECTION – Why do bad confessions occur?
“Confession is the most precious institution in the Holy Church, as could be testified by the blessed in heaven and the eternally condemned in hell. The former were saved largely because they worthily received the sacrament of penance; the latter were lost forever either because they did not go to confession or because they made bad confessions.
Why do bad confessions occur?
Because at times we do not make a proper examination of conscience. One must examine the depths of one’s heart with a torch and a scale in hand, hiding nothing from oneself, just as nothing will be hidden at the Last Judgment. (…) Anyone who goes to confession less frequently should devote more time to examining their conscience, doing so after prayer to the Holy Spirit and entrusting themselves to the Blessed Virgin. (…)
It is advisable to go over one’s sins several times in one’s mind so that they may be properly fixed in memory. If someone recalls a mortal sin before Communion, they should not approach the Lord’s Table if the forgetfulness was due to their own fault.
Secondly, one must confess sins precisely, although this is difficult for human pride. Along with the sin, one should state its number and aggravating circumstances. Here the evil spirit greatly deceives the penitent, either by urging them to seek a lenient confessor or by encouraging them to conceal sins and misleading the unfortunate person with the hope that they will confess better later. (…)
As a result of a sacrilegious confession, there follows blindness and hardness of heart, which often do not leave a person even until death. (…) Then God’s grace diminishes, Satan gains stronger control over the soul, and the fear of God also lessens. Thus the warning of the Saviour to those who commit sacrilege is fulfilled: ‘You will seek Me, and you will die in your sins
We pray with Saint Sister Faustina (Diary 1485):
Soul: Lord, I doubt that You will pardon my numerous sins; my misery fills me with fright.
Jesus: My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world. Who can measure the extent of my goodness? For you I descended from heaven to earth; for you I allowed myself to be nailed to the cross; for you I let my Sacred Heart be pierced with a lance, thus opening wide the source of mercy for you. Come, then, with trust to draw graces from this fountain. I never reject a contrite heart. Your misery has disappeared in the depths of My mercy. Do not argue with Me about your wretchedness. You will give me pleasure if you hand over to me all your troubles and griefs. I shall heap upon you the treasures of My grace.
Soul: You have conquered, O Lord, my stony heart with Your goodness. In trust and humility I approach the tribunal of Your mercy, where You yourself absolve me by the hand of your representative. O Lord, I feel Your grace and Your peace filling my poor soul. I feel overwhelmed by Your mercy, O Lord. You forgive me, which is more than I dared to hope for or could imagine. Your goodness surpasses all my desires. And now, filled with gratitude for so many graces, I invite You to my heart. I wandered, like a prodigal child gone astray; but you did not cease to be my Father. Increase Your mercy toward me, for You see how weak I am.
Jesus: Child, speak no more of your misery; it is already forgotten. Listen, My child, to what I desire to tell you. Come close to My wounds and draw from the Fountain of Life whatever your heart desires. Drink copiously from the Fountain of Life and you will not weary on your journey. Look at the splendors of My mercy and do not fear the enemies of your salvation. Glorify My mercy.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, now, and always, and forever and ever. Amen
