MODLITWA POCZĄTKOWA
Panie Jezu, Ty wybrałeś Twoich kapłanów i osoby zakonne spośród nas i wysłałeś ich, aby głosili Twoje Słowo i działali w Twoje Święte Imię. Za tak wielki dar dla Twego Kościoła przyjmij nasze uwielbienie i dziękczynienie. Prosimy Cię, abyś napełnił ich ogniem Twojej miłości, aby ich służba ujawniała Twoją obecność w Kościele. Ponieważ są naczyniami z gliny, modlimy się, aby Twoja moc przenikała ich słabości. Nie pozwól, by w swych utrapieniach zostali zmiażdżeni. Spraw, by w wątpliwościach nigdy nie poddawali się rozpaczy, nie ulegali pokusom, by w prześladowaniach nie czuli się opuszczeni. Natchnij ich w modlitwie, aby codziennie żyli tajemnicą Twojej śmierci i zmartwychwstania. W chwilach słabości poślij im Twojego Ducha. Pomóż im, wychwalać Twojego Ojca Niebieskiego i modlić się za biednych grzeszników. Mocą Ducha Świętego włóż Twoje słowo na ich usta i wlej swoją miłość w ich serca, aby nieśli Dobrą Nowinę ubogim, a przygnębionym i zrozpaczonym – uzdrowienie. Niech dar Maryi, Twojej Matki, dla Twojego ucznia, którego umiłowałeś, będzie darem dla każdego powołanego do Twojej służby. Spraw, aby Ta, która uformowała Ciebie na swój ludzki wizerunek, uformowała ich na Twoje boskie podobieństwo, mocą Twojego Ducha i na chwałę Boga Ojca.

ROZWAŻANIE – Czyż nie wiecie, że ciało wasze jest przybytkiem Ducha Świętego? (1 Kor 6,19)
„ (…) kto popełnia grzech nieczysty, ten dopuszcza się swego rodzaju świętokradztwa, bo znieważa członki Chrystusowe i świątynię Ducha Świętego, jaką jest nasze ciało (por. 1 Kor 6, 15 i 19). Z tego choć w niewielkim stopniu można wywnioskować, jak wielką obrazę Bożą stanowi ten grzech i na jak wielkie zasługuje on kary. Trzeba by, bracia moi, postawić tu teraz przed wami bezwstydną królową Jezebel, która przez swój nierząd zgubiła tyle dusz; ona sama powinna wam odmalować straszny, ponury i rozpaczliwy obraz mąk, jakie teraz ponosi w piekle i będzie ponosić na wieki. Usłyszelibyście, jak wśród pożerających ją płomieni jęczy ona: „Biada mi! Jak strasznie cierpię! Żegnaj wspaniałe niebo, nigdy cię nie zobaczę dla mnie wszystko się już skończyło. Przeklęty grzechu nieczysty, to za ciebie nagrodą są te płomienie, które teraz mnie pożerają. – O, jak drogo muszę płacić za brudną, przelotną przyjemność! Gdybym mogła jeszcze raz wrócić na ziemię, potrafiłabym docenić cnotę czystości!” (…)
Każdy chrześcijanin powinien wiedzieć: „że ten grzech pozbawia go niebieskiego dziedzictwa, że zmienia on synów Boga w synów gniewu i odrzucenia. Jeszcze raz powtarzam, że mówię o chrześcijanach, których Jezus Chrystus odkupił Swoją Przenajświętszą Krwią i uczynił mieszkaniem i przybytkiem Boga.” (… )„Już sama myśl o tym powinna człowieka śmiertelnie przerazić. Duch Święty mówi, że nędznik, który oddaje się rozwiązłości, zasługuje na to, żeby duch piekielny deptał po nim tak, jak stopy ludzkie depczą po śmieciach. (por. Mi 7,10 i Syr 9,1-9) Św. Brygidzie objawił kiedyś Chrystus, że przygotował dla rozpustników straszne męczarnie i że prawie wszyscy ludzie padli ofiarą tego haniebnego występku.

W każdym dniu nowenny zatrzymaj się nad tekstem rozważań przez chwilę (ok. 10-15 min) i proś Ducha Świętego, by pomógł Ci zrozumieć te słowa; zobacz, które słowo szczególnie Cię poruszyło, które dotyka Twojego życia; zastanów się co ono dla Ciebie znaczy; im głębiej wejdziesz w te rozważania tym więcej łask spłynie na Ciebie i innych, pamiętaj byś w tym rozważaniu starał się być sam z Panem Bogiem…
Na koniec podziękuj Panu za to, co Ci dziś pokazał, o Tobie…

DAY ONE
Impurity
Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You have chosen Your priests and religious from among us and sent them to preach Your Word and to act in Your Holy Name. For such a great gift to Your Church, accept our praise and thanksgiving. We ask You to fill them with the fire of Your love, so that their service may reveal Your presence in the Church. Since they are vessels of clay, we pray that Your power may penetrate their weaknesses. Do not allow them to be crushed in their afflictions. Make it so that in doubt they never give in to despair, do not succumb to temptations, do not feel abandoned in persecutions. Inspire them in prayer, so that they may live daily the mystery of Your death and resurrection. In moments of weakness, send them Your Spirit. Help them to praise Your Heavenly Father and pray for poor sinners. By the power of the Holy Spirit, place your word on their lips and pour your love into their hearts, so that they may bring the Good News to the poor and healing to the downcast and desperate. May the gift of Mary, your Mother, to your beloved disciple, be a gift to everyone called to your service. Grant that she who formed you in her human image may form them in your divine likeness, by the power of your Spirit and for the glory of God the Father.
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Wisdom, guide priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Light, enlighten priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Purity, sanctify priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Power, support priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, make it so that priests, especially animated and strengthened by Your grace, may carry the word of truth and the blessing of peace to the whole world.
May the fire of holy love ignite their hearts, so that in the flames of this love they may purify and sanctify their souls.

MEDITATION
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit? (1 Cor 6:19)
„(…) whoever commits an impure sin commits a kind of sacrilege, because he insults the members of Christ and the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is our body (cf. 1 Cor 6:15 and 19). From this, at least to a small extent, one can deduce what a great offense to God this sin constitutes and what great punishments it deserves. It would be necessary, my brothers, to bring before you now the shameless Queen Jezebel, who has lost so many souls through her fornication; she herself should paint for you a terrible, gloomy and despairing picture of the torments she is now suffering in hell and will endure for eternity. You would hear her groaning amidst the flames that are devouring her: „Woe is me! How terribly I suffer! Farewell, wonderful heaven, I will never see you again, for me everything is over. Cursed impure sin, it is for you that these flames that are now devouring me are the reward. – Oh, how dearly I must pay for a dirty, fleeting pleasure! If I could return to earth once more, I would be able to appreciate the virtue of purity!” (…)
Every Christian should know: „that this sin deprives him of the heavenly inheritance, that it changes the sons of God into sons of wrath and rejection. I repeat once again that I am speaking of Christians whom Jesus Christ redeemed with His Most Precious Blood and made the dwelling and tabernacle of God.” (…) „The very thought of this should terrify a person to death. The Holy Spirit says that the wretch who gives himself over to licentiousness deserves to have the spirit of hell trample on him as human feet trample on garbage. (cf. Mic 7:10 and Sir 9:1-9) Christ once revealed to St. Bridget that he had prepared terrible torments for the licentious and that almost all people fell victim to this shameful vice.
On each day of the novena, stop over the text of the meditations for a moment (approx. 10-15 minutes) and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand these words. See which word has particularly moved you, which one touches your life. Think about what it means to you. The deeper you go into these meditations, the more graces will flow to you and others. Remember to try to be alone with the Lord God during this meditation. Finally, thank the Lord for what He has shown you today.
