Panie Jezu Chryste, Odwieczny Kapłanie,
Zachowaj Twoje sługi, kapłanów, W zaciszu Twego Najświętszego Serca, gdzie nikt nie może ich skrzywdzić.
Zachowaj od skazy ich namaszczone dłonie, które dotykają Twego Najświętszego Ciała.
Zachowaj ich wargi w świętości O barwie Twojej Najdroższej Krwi. Zachowaj ich serca w czystości i świętości, opieczętowane wzniosłym znakiem Twojego chwalebnego Kapłaństwa.
Niech Twoja święta miłość ogarnie ich i osłoni przed duchem tego świata.
Pobłogosław ich posługę poprzez obfitość jej owoców, a dusze, którym posługują, niech będą ich radością i pocieszeniem tu na ziemi i w niebie. Po ich zwycięskiej walce Z ciemnością, szatanem i światem, Podaruj im koronę wieczystej chwały w Twoim wiekuistym królestwie..
ROZWAŻANIE
Trybunał pokuty!
„Chcąc dobrze zrobić rachunek sumienia, potrzeba na to pewnego czasu, znajomości prawd katechizmowych i uwagi. Im kto rzadziej się spowiada, tym dłuższego potrzebuje czasu na rachunek sumienia, tym uważniej musi się nad sobą zastanawiać. (…) Trzeba robić rachunek sumienia codziennie wieczorem, dokładniej raz na tydzień, a wtedy przed spowiedzią łatwiej będzie poznać stan swej duszy. Starajmy się tak sądzić, jak nas kiedyś osądzi Jezus Chrystus.
(…) Przypomniawszy sobie wszystkie grzechy, prośmy Boga o szczery żal i mocne postanowienie poprawy.
Następnie zbliżmy się z uszanowaniem i pewnym drżeniem do trybunału pokuty. (…) Jak celnicy spuśćmy skromnie wzrok ku ziemi i upokarzajmy się przed Bogiem (Łk 18, 13). Gdy będziecie musieli dłużej czekać na spowiedź, przypominajcie sobie ponownie grzechy, wzbudźcie akt żalu, róbcie dobre postanowienia i módlcie się do Boga, by zlitował się nad wami. Nie tłoczcie się na tych, co się spowiadają, ani się zanadto nie zbliżajcie, byście nie słyszeli obcych grzechów. Jeżeli coś usłyszeliście z cudzej spowiedzi, obowiązani jesteście do tej samej tajemnicy co i ksiądz. Gdybyście wyjawili usłyszane grzechy przed drugimi, musielibyście się z tego spowiadać.
Gdy już przyjdzie na was kolej, pamiętajcie, że w osobie kapłana zasiada w konfesjonale sam Jezus Chrystus. Uczyńcie z uszanowaniem znak krzyża świętego i mówcie: „Pobłogosław mnie, ojcze duchowy, abym mógł się dobrze
i szczerze wyspowiadać”. Odmówcie spowiedź powszechną, nie czekajcie na pytania kapłana, lecz sami powiedzcie, kiedy spowiadaliście się po raz ostatni, czy otrzymaliście rozgrzeszenie lub nie i dlaczego; czy odprawiliście nadaną pokutę, wynagrodziliście krzywdy, czy pojednaliście się z przeciwnikiem, czy wyznaliście wszystkie grzechy lub czy coś dobrowolnie zatailiście. Wreszcie wyjawcie grzechy popełnione po ostatniej spowiedzi z pokorą, szczerze, roztropnie
i całkowicie. A gdy to uczynicie, dodajcie: Mój ojcze, już sobie więcej grzechów nie przypominam. Za te wszystkie żałuję z całego serca, a ciebie proszę o pokutę i rozgrzeszenie.
Słuchajcie pilnie upomnień i uwag, jakich wam udzieli, nie myślcie wtedy o grzechach i nie przerywajcie spowiednikowi. Pokutę nadaną pragnijcie odprawić jak najlepiej. Gdybyście nie otrzymali rozgrzeszenia, poddajcie się temu bez szemrania. Gdy wam udzielać będzie rozgrzeszenia, upokorzcie się na wzór Jezusa Chrystusa, modlącego się w Ogrodzie Oliwnym; proście Boga, by je potwierdził w niebie. Otrzymawszy rozgrzeszenie, odchodźcie od konfesjonału skromnie i podziękujcie dobremu Bogu za łaski otrzymane w sakramencie pokuty. Przypomnijcie sobie, jakie środki do poprawy wskazał wam spowiednik i postanówcie ich używać”.
Zatrzymaj się nad tekstem rozważań przez chwilę (ok. 10-15 min) i proś Ducha Świętego, by pomógł Ci zrozumieć te słowa. Zobacz, które słowo szczególnie Cię poruszyło, które dotyka Twojego życia. Zastanów się, co ono dla Ciebie znaczy. Im głębiej wejdziesz w te rozważania, tym więcej łask spłynie na Ciebie i innych. Pamiętaj, byś w tym rozważaniu starał się być sam z Panem Bogiem. Na koniec podziękuj Panu za to, co Ci dziś pokazał o Tobie.
Modlimy się wraz ze świętą s. Faustyną (Dz.1485):
Dusza: Panie, lękam się, czy mi przebaczysz tak wielką liczbę grzechów, trwogą mnie napełnia moja nędza.
Jezus: Większe jest miłosierdzie Moje aniżeli nędze twoje i świata całego. Kto zmierzył dobroć Moją? Dla ciebie zstąpiłem z nieba na ziemię, dla ciebie pozwoliłem przybić się do krzyża, dla ciebie pozwoliłem otworzyć włócznią najświętsze serce swoje i otworzyłem ci źródło miłosierdzia; przychodź i czerp łaski z tego źródła naczyniem ufności. Uniżonego serca nigdy nie odrzucę, Zrób Mi przyjemność, że Mi oddasz wszystkie swe biedy i całą nędzę, a Ja cię napełnię skarbami łask.
Dusza: Zwyciężyłeś, o Panie, kamienne serce moje dobrocią swoją; oto z ufnością i pokorą zbliżam się do trybunału miłosierdzia Twego, rozgrzesz mnie sam ręką zastępcy swego. O Panie, czuję, jak spłynęła łaska i pokój w moją biedną duszę. Czuję, że mnie na wskroś ogarnęło miłosierdzie Twoje, Panie. Więcej mi przebaczyłeś, aniżeli się ośmielałam spodziewać albo pomyśleć byłam zdolna. Dobroć Twoja przewyższyła wszystkie moje pragnienia. A teraz zapraszam Cię do serca swego, przejęta wdzięcznością za tyle łask. Błądziłam jak dziecię marnotrawne po manowcach, a Tyś mi nie przestawał być Ojcem. Pomnażaj we mnie miłosierdzie Twoje, bo widzisz, jak słabą jestem.
Jezus: Dziecię, nie mów już o nędzy swojej, bo Ja już o niej nie pamiętam. Posłuchaj, dziecię Moje, co ci pragnę powiedzieć: przytul się do ran Moich i czerp ze źródła żywota wszystko, czegokolwiek serce twoje zapragnąć może. Pij pełnymi ustami ze źródła żywota, a nie ustaniesz w podróży. Patrz w blaski miłosierdzia Mojego, a nie lękaj się nieprzyjaciół swego zbawienia. Wysławiaj Moje miłosierdzie.
Chwała Ojcu i Synowi, i Duchowi Świętemu, jak była na początku, teraz i zawsze, i na wieki wieków. Amen.

DAY EIGHT
Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You chose Your priests and religious from among us and sent them out to proclaim Your Word and to act in Your Holy Name. For this great gift to Your Church, accept our praise and thanksgiving.
We ask You to fill them with the fire of Your love, so that their ministry may reveal Your presence in the Church. Because they are vessels of clay, we pray that Your power may penetrate their weakness. Do not allow them to be crushed in their trials. Grant that in moments of doubt they may never give in to despair, that they may not yield to temptations, and that in persecution they may not feel abandoned. Inspire them in prayer, that they may live each day the mystery of Your death and resurrection. In times of weakness, send them Your Spirit. Help them to praise Your Heavenly Father and to pray for poor sinners.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, place Your word upon their lips and pour Your love into their hearts, so that they may bring the Good News to the poor, and healing to the sorrowful and despairing.
May the gift of Mary, Your Mother, to the disciple whom You loved, be a gift for everyone called to Your service. Grant that she who formed You in Your human likeness may form them in Your divine likeness, by the power of Your Spirit and for the glory of God the Father.
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Wisdom, guide priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Light, enlighten priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Purity, sanctify priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of Strength, support priests and religious;
Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, grant that especially priests, enlivened and strengthened by Your grace, may bring the word of truth and the blessing of peace to the whole world.
May the fire of holy love inflame their hearts, so that in its flames they may purify and sanctify souls.
Holy Spirit, we entrust to You the hearts of priests and religious;
Shape them in the likeness of the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Reflection: The Tribunal of Penance
“To make a good examination of conscience, one needs sufficient time, knowledge of the truths of the catechism, and attentiveness. The more rarely someone goes to confession, the more time they need for the examination of conscience, and the more carefully they must reflect on themselves. (…)One should examine their conscience every evening, and more thoroughly once a week; then, before confession, it will be easier to recognise the state of one’s soul. Let us strive to judge ourselves as Jesus Christ will one day judge us.
(…) Having recalled all our sins, let us ask God for sincere regret and a firm resolution to amend our lives.
Then let us approach the tribunal of penance with reverence and a certain trembling. (…) Like the tax collector, let us lower our eyes humbly to the ground and humble ourselves before God (Luke 18:13).
If you have to wait longer for confession, recall your sins again, make an act of contrition, form good resolutions, and pray to God to have mercy on you. Do not crowd those who are confessing, nor draw too close, so that you do not hear the sins of others. If you have heard something from another’s confession, you are bound to the same secrecy as the priest. If you reveal such sins to others, you would have to confess this yourselves.
When your turn comes, remember that in the person of the priest, it is Jesus Christ Himself who sits in the confessional. Make the sign of the holy cross with reverence and say:
‘Bless me, Father, that I may make a good and sincere confession.’
Recite the general confession. Do not wait for the priest’s questions, but state yourself when you last went to confession, whether you received absolution or not and for what reason; whether you completed the penance given, made restitution for wrongs, reconciled with others, and whether you confessed all your sins or deliberately withheld anything.
Finally, confess the sins committed since your last confession humbly, sincerely, prudently, and completely. When you have done this, add:
‘My Father, I do not remember any more sins. For all these I am truly sorry from my whole heart, and I ask you for penance and absolution.’
Listen carefully to the priest’s advice and instructions; do not dwell on your sins at that moment and do not interrupt him. Desire to carry out the penance as well as you can.
If you do not receive absolution, accept this without complaint. When absolution is being given, humble yourself in imitation of Jesus Christ praying in the Garden of Gethsemane; ask God to confirm it in heaven.
After receiving absolution, leave the confessional modestly and thank God for the graces received in the sacrament of penance. Recall the means of amendment suggested by the confessor, and resolve to put them into practice.”
We pray with Saint Sister Faustina (Diary 1485):
Soul: Lord, I doubt that You will pardon my numerous sins; my misery fills me with fright.
Jesus: My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world. Who can measure the extent of my goodness? For you I descended from heaven to earth; for you I allowed myself to be nailed to the cross; for you I let my Sacred Heart be pierced with a lance, thus opening wide the source of mercy for you. Come, then, with trust to draw graces from this fountain. I never reject a contrite heart. Your misery has disappeared in the depths of My mercy. Do not argue with Me about your wretchedness. You will give me pleasure if you hand over to me all your troubles and griefs. I shall heap upon you the treasures of My grace.
Soul: You have conquered, O Lord, my stony heart with Your goodness. In trust and humility I approach the tribunal of Your mercy, where You yourself absolve me by the hand of your representative. O Lord, I feel Your grace and Your peace filling my poor soul. I feel overwhelmed by Your mercy, O Lord. You forgive me, which is more than I dared to hope for or could imagine. Your goodness surpasses all my desires. And now, filled with gratitude for so many graces, I invite You to my heart. I wandered, like a prodigal child gone astray; but you did not cease to be my Father. Increase Your mercy toward me, for You see how weak I am.
Jesus: Child, speak no more of your misery; it is already forgotten. Listen, My child, to what I desire to tell you. Come close to My wounds and draw from the Fountain of Life whatever your heart desires. Drink copiously from the Fountain of Life and you will not weary on your journey. Look at the splendors of My mercy and do not fear the enemies of your salvation. Glorify My mercy.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, now, and always, and forever and ever. Amen
