Panie Jezu, Ty wybrałeś Twoich kapłanów i osoby zakonne spośród nas i wysłałeś ich, aby głosili Twoje Słowo i działali w Twoje Święte Imię. Za tak wielki dar dla Twego Kościoła przyjmij nasze uwielbienie i dziękczynienie. Prosimy Cię, abyś napełnił ich ogniem Twojej miłości, aby ich służba ujawniała Twoją obecność w Kościele. Ponieważ są naczyniami z gliny, modlimy się, aby Twoja moc przenikała ich słabości. Nie pozwól, by w swych utrapieniach zostali zmiażdżeni. Spraw, by w wątpliwościach nigdy nie poddawali się rozpaczy, nie ulegali pokusom, by w prześladowaniach nie czuli się opuszczeni. Niech dar Maryi, Twojej Matki, dla Twojego ucznia, którego umiłowałeś, będzie darem dla każdego powołanego do Twojej służby. Spraw, aby Ta, która uformowała Ciebie na swój ludzki wizerunek, uformowała ich na Twoje boskie podobieństwo, mocą Twojego Ducha i na chwałę Boga Ojca.

ROZWAŻANIE Czy boisz się grzechu i jego skutków?
Grzech wreszcie jest największym nieszczęściem, jakie może spotkać nas na świecie.
Św. Teresa widziała dusze w stanie grzechu ciężkiego i widok ten tak ją przeraził, że wolałaby ponieść męki piekielne, niż popełnić choćby jeden grzech.
Św. Tomasz dziwił się, jak człowiek, który popełnił choćby jeden tylko grzech w życiu, może się śmiać. Św. Katarzyna ze Sieny mówiła, że wszechmocny Bóg nie mógłby wyrządzić człowiekowi takiej szkody, jaką on sam sobie wyrządza, kiedy dopuszcza się grzechu.
Św. Katarzyna Genueńska wołała, że odkąd poznała zło grzechu, nie dziwi się karom piekielnym, bo są one prawie niczym w porównaniu do złego grzechu.
Św. Magdalena De Pazzis nie mogła pojąć, jak Jezus Chrystus mógł umrzeć za stworzenie tak przewrotne, jak grzesznicy. Święci tylko grzechu bali się na tym świecie. Także i my, gdybyśmy przy pomocy światła Bożego lepiej poznali ohydę grzechu, wolelibyśmy tysiąc razy umrzeć, niż dopuścić się jednego takiego występku. Przypomnijcie sobie, co musiał wycierpieć Chrystus za grzechy ludzi! Oto Zbawiciel umiera na krzyżu – Jego Ciało poszarpane w kawałki przy biczowaniu, twarz opluta przez bezbożników, głowa poprzeszywana cierniem – najpiękniejszy z
Synów ludzkich wygląda jak nędzy robak! W chwili Jego śmierci cały świat znalazł się w zamęcie: słońce pokrywa się ciemnościami, ziemia też, drży w posadach, skały pękają, groby się otwierają i wychodzę z nich umarli. Spytajcie samego Chrystusa, dlaczego ponosi tak haniebną i okrutną śmierć, a odpowie wam: „synu to z powodu grzechu…”.
Choćby wszystkie stworzenia rozumne na ziemi i w niebie poniosły najstraszniejsze męki, nie zdołałyby mimo to, zgładzić nawet jednego grzechu powszedniego. Dlatego cierpię, żeby zadośćuczynić Bożej sprawiedliwości. Gdyby przynajmniej ludzie przestali mnie za to na nowo obrażać.”

Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You chose Your priests and religious from among us and sent them to preach Your Word and act in Your Holy Name. For such a great gift to Your Church, accept our praise and thanksgiving.
We ask You to fill them with the fire of Your love, so that their service may reveal Your presence in the Church. Because they are vessels of clay, we pray that Your power will penetrate their weaknesses. Do not let them be crushed in their afflictions. Make them never give in to despair in doubts, never give in to temptations, and never feel abandoned in times of persecution. Inspire them in prayer so that they may live the mystery of Your death and resurrection every day. In moments of weakness, send them Your Spirit. Help them to praise Your Heavenly Father and pray for poor sinners. By the power of the Holy Spirit, put Your word on their lips and pour Your love into their hearts so that they can bring the Good News to the poor and healing to the depressed and desperate. May the gift of Mary, Your Mother, to Your disciple whom You loved, be a gift to everyone called to Your service. Grant that She who formed You in Her human image, form them in Your divine likeness, by the power of Your Spirit and to the glory of God the Father.

CONSIDERATION
Are you afraid of sin and its consequences?
Sin, finally, is the greatest misfortune that can befall us in the world.
Saint Teresa saw souls in a state of grave sin and the sight terrified her so much that she would rather suffer the torments of hell than commit even one sin.
Saint Thomas wondered how a man who had committed only one sin in his life could laugh.
Saint Catherine of Siena said that omnipotent God could not inflict upon man such harm as he inflicts upon himself when he commits sin.
Saint Catherine of Genoa exclaimed that since she knew the evil of sin, she was not surprised by the punishments of hell, because they were almost nothing compared to the evil of sin.
Saint Magdalena De Pazzis could not understand how Jesus Christ could die for a creature as perverse as sinners.
The saints were only afraid of sin in this world. We too, if, with the help of God’s light, we knew better the abomination of sin, we would rather die a thousand times than commit one such transgression. Remember what Christ had to suffer for the sins of people! Here is the Savior dying on the cross – His Body torn into pieces during the scourging, His face spat on by the wicked, His head pierced with thorns – the most beautiful of the Sons of men looks like a miserable worm! At the moment of His death the whole world was in confusion: the sun is covered with darkness, the earth too, its foundations are shaking, the rocks are cracking, graves are opening and the dead are emerging from them. Ask Christ himself why he died so shamefully and cruelly, and he will answer you: „Son, it was because of sin…”.
Even if all rational creatures on earth and in heaven suffered the most terrible torments, they would not be able to put away even one venial sin. That’s why I suffer to satisfy God’s justice. If only people would stop insulting me about it again.”
Stay over this text for a while (10-15 min); ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand these words; see which word particularly moved you, which one touches your life; think about what it means to you; remember that in this reflection you should try to be alone with God…, thank Him for what He showed you about you today…
